Third Class Girls love Shakespeare!

5th & 6th Class Girls Abú

Miss Carroll writes:
5th and 6th class girls made it to the final of their Leinster league before Easter! They played out of their skins in a match against Glenageary National school on Wednesday the 10th March!
At full time the score was 0-0. After extra time the score was 0-0 and after playing 5 mins of Golden Goal the score remained 0-0!
As a result of this there will be a replay between the two teams! We are awaiting the date, time and venue of this match.
Thank you to all parents, teachers and 5th and 6th class for their continued support!

Get Behind Magic Flute, The Musical

Magic Flute, the Musical will run from Wednesday the 6th to Friday the 8th March 2013 in The Civic Theatre in Tallaght. Expect a musically enchanting extravaganza set in a circus with princes, maidens (awaiting rescue), ninjas (see below), dragons, unscrupulous bankers and the evil Queen of the Night herself  accompanied by choruses and orchestras of Alexandra College and JSS.
A production like this, involving 120 students, requires more funding than can be raised through ticket sales. We raised most of the money via passionate in-house fundraising but are just short of our venue and technical costs. And so we turn to you..... Please sponsor our school production by clicking this Fundit link

Form 2 Girls Read Charlie & Chocolate Factory

Colourful Candy

So please, oh please, we beg, we pray,
Go throw your TV set away,
And in its place you can install
A lovely bookshelf on the wall.
Then fill the shelves with lots of books,
Ignoring all the dirty looks,
The screams and yells, the bites and kicks,
And children hitting you with sticks-
Fear not, because we promise you
That, in about a week or two
Of having nothing else to do,
They'll now begin to feel the need
Of having something to read.
And once they start -- oh boy, oh boy!
You watch the slowly growing joy
That fills their hearts. They'll grow so keen
They'll wonder what they'd ever seen
In that ridiculous machine,
That nauseating, foul, unclean,
Repulsive television screen!
And later, each and every kid
Will love you more for what you did.”
― Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

What's not to love about Roald Dahl's tale of children set loose in candyland? First class girls enjoyed reading the book so much that they produced great artwork in response.
